Senior AI Engineer

Overview

OnePath AI is redefining how operational systems are built in one of the world’s most overlooked—and ripe—industries: home services. From HVAC and plumbing to installations and repairs, this $750B+ sector runs on bloated, outdated software. We’re here to change that.

Launched in April 2025, OnePath is building production-grade AI agents that autonomously power workflows across sales, support, dispatch, marketing, and more. Unlike incumbents who bolt AI onto legacy systems, we’re re-architecting from the ground up—creating fully integrated systems designed for intelligent agents, not human operators.

This is applied AI at scale: autonomous decision-making, not dashboarding; agent infrastructure, not just chatbot logic. As an AI Engineer at OnePath, you’ll help us pioneer a new class of intelligent microservices that reshape how real-world businesses operate day to day.

With our current valuation at $20M we’re looking to grow our engineering team!

Who You Are

You're an AI Infrastructure Engineer or LLM Systems Developer who loves going deep on prompt design, function call orchestration, and building scalable services that power intelligent agents. You’ve worked with (or studied) state-of-the-art LLMs and know how to turn them into production-grade tools.

What You Bring

  • • 2–4 years of experience working with OpenAI APIs, LangChain, ReAct, or similar LLM orchestration frameworks.
  • • Deep understanding of prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and multi-step reasoning strategies (e.g. ReAct, CoT, MCPs).
  • • Experience designing and implementing MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and function call hierarchies.
  • • 3+ years of experience developing with Python (or TypeScript/Go) for building modular microservices.
  • • Hands-on experience deploying FastAPI, gRPC, or similar frameworks as production-grade APIs.
  • • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, or platform-as-a-service providers like Render and Fly.io.

How You Think

  • • You treat LLMs as cognitive engines and care deeply about consistent reasoning, output control, and predictable performance.
  • • You have a bias for action — building quick prototypes, testing ideas, and learning from what breaks.
  • • You approach edge cases, latency, fallbacks, and reliability as part of your core engineering process.

Why You Fit Onepath

  • • You’re excited to own backend infrastructure for LLM-based agents that operate autonomously in real-world home service workflows.
  • • You want to help pioneer how modern AI systems are engineered, deployed, and scaled in production environments.
